Pro Bono

When I’m not leading teams and developing new products for the FinTech world, I enjoy doing pro bono work for companies. In this case, pitching a new design approach for a company that’s very dear to my heart, petfinder.com

ABOUT
Petfinder is an online directory of nearly 11,000 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. 

INSPIRED BY THE MISSION
To use Internet technology and the resources it can generate to:

Increase public awareness of the availability of high-quality adoptable pets.

Increase the overall effectiveness of pet adoption programs across North America to the extent that the euthanasia of adoptable pets is eliminated.

Elevate the status of pets to that of family member.

GOALS

ONE LOOK AND FEEL
Develop a Design System to unify products across platforms, as well as elevate your brand footprint.

This unified system will be more than just a UI library; it will also be a guide that provides rules, direction, and variations along with code examples for each individual component. 

CROSS PLATFORM INTEGRATION
Visual synergy and on-brand messaging across mobile, web, and future platforms is key. Regardless of the target platform and its potential limitations we can address content exposure in a creative way, leading to design cohesiveness.

THE FUTURE
To ensure we place pets in the right home and meet consumer needs, continuous customer research is crucial for the development cycle. A broad scope of data will gain a better understanding user pain points.

Research that should be included would consist of the following:
