About Plan It
Plan It is a new feature that that allows Card Members the flexibility of paying off large purchases over a period of time. Card Members can easily place a qualifying purchase into a plan, which is then paid off in equal monthly amounts over a period of time of their choosing. Instead of paying interest (subject to their current Purchase APR), they will pay a monthly plan fee that will be disclosed upfront.
Plan It was one of the 10 winners of the 2018 Edward P. Gilligan Award for Innovation as an industry-first offering that puts more financial control in the hands of Card Members by giving them more options for how they pay.
Goal
Highlight the value proposition of a new lending card feature, and develop a journey that was clear and easy for the user to engage with.
As we began to research and formulate a lending design concept - our flexible template naturally evolved as an interim solution for us to develop more products. This created closer partnerships within Amex, made it easier for our developers to code our products, and fundamentally created our international lending products, Pagos Diferidos for Mexico and PayFlex+ for the Japanese market.

Product Design
UX and Design. Development of Guidelines, and Component both for responsive web, and mobile native.
Goal
Create and develop American Express’s first Design Language System (DLS), to unify all products across the enterprise. The DLS is a UI ready toolkit that helps Designers, Developers, and Product teams working on all kinds of digital products. This unified design system is more than just style library, it is also a guide that provides rules, direction, and variations along with code examples for each individual component.
The DLS was built with React Native in mind, letting us compose a rich mobile UI from declarative components.
